LAEF Anniversary

The “Day of Portugal “celebration sponsored by the Luso American Education Foundation (LAEF) started in 1966. This annual celebration continues today around June 10th. with luncheons, dinners, symposiums, and parades throughout California

The Dia de Portugal celebration was expanded to commemorate the LAEF anniversary; to honor students who were recipients of the LAEF scholarships and grants for that year; and to acknowledge contributions and services by organizations and individuals to promoted and perpetuate the Portuguese language and culture through the Dia de Portugal and Wall of Fame awards.
